Is MY UNPOPULAR OPINIONS... IN FRENCH! 🇫🇷 Learn French with a French video with subtitles EN & FR good for learning French?

Add to my list

Yes, if you are intermediate and ready for French spoken naturally on everyday subjects. This video, where a teacher shares unpopular opinions, gives you real opinions in French with subtitles in both languages, which makes it a friendly step toward unscripted speech.

Why it works for learners

Opinions are one of the most useful things to practise, and here you hear how someone actually agrees, objects, hedges and justifies a view. This is teacher-made content, so it sits between a lesson and native video: the French is natural, but the speaker knows learners are listening. French and English subtitles let you check yourself, and a single video on one theme is an easy unit to rewatch.

What makes it hard

Natural speech means contractions and filler words, plus thoughts that change direction midway. It is tempting to read the subtitles the whole time and call it listening. Cultural references behind an opinion can also lose you, even when you understand each word.

How to use it

Watch first with French subtitles, then again with none. Pause after each opinion and say in French if you agree, borrowing the speaker's phrases. Note every expression used to introduce a view, then write three unpopular opinions of your own.
