Not yet, unless you are advanced. 2 Days & 1 Night is fast, jokey variety-show talk among friends on the road, with a travel format that makes it more followable than most but still leaves you racing to keep up.

Why it works for learners

Travel gives this show something other variety programmes lack: place names, regional food and small encounters with people around Korea. That means you learn about the country as well as the language. The bokbulbok games, which decide who eats and who sleeps outdoors, are repeated from trip to trip, so the set phrases of bargaining, complaining and celebrating come round again and again. The food and location context often lets you work out jokes that would otherwise pass you by.

What makes it hard

Cast members talk over one another outdoors, sometimes shouting across distance, and jokes depend on long-running relationships. Locals you meet may speak in regional dialects. A 100-minute episode is demanding, and with many seasons and cast changes it's hard to know where to begin.

How to use it

Choose an episode set in a region you would like to visit, and split it into sections. Watch the games first since the rules repeat. Note food names and place names, and look them up on a map, which makes them far easier to remember.
